Day 1 of 40 Days of Lent: Snowflakes

Updated: Mar 11, 2025

This morning began with a horrible snow storm (carrying over from last evening) and a citywide blackout due to the severity. God, the constant provider, made sure His daughter had candles to light every room.

As the storm raged outside, I sat in the gentle glow of twinkling, candle light renewed in gratefulness, peace, and Godfidence, supplicating on the promise of 1 Peter 5:10. In truth, I no longer saw the snow or the storm because I understood that God is in control of the ebb and flow of this planet.

This means the sun will certainly shine again once the storm is over. Then, all this snow will become water for dry crops resting in seeded soil—even mustard seeds will sprout again. Agriculturists will profit because there is a God who uses everything for His plan; Amen.

I smiled at the sense of humor God must have to begin such a day as Ash Wednesday, Lent, with a blackout and a rough snowstorm, which He surely will use for prosperity.

I appreciated the gentleness of God's divine delivery for the work I must achieve. I felt extremely loved because of my connection to a Creator who can pack such a powerful sermon into just one snowflake.

See, I looked out the window to see if the entire city was still without power—there was no light on the sky towers or shining through the windows of houses. All that could be seen was a total whiteout of snowflakes. Then I heard the Holy Spirit deliver the message: "You too, I can cover you, too, with infinite blessings as numerous as these snowflakes and endless fountains of fresh anointing."

In that moment, I offered a simple prayer: "Thank you; I surrender." I agreed to receive a fresh anointing, step by step, this Lent season. Ase.

Pardon me, I process in melodies, poetry and harmony. #MusicIsANecessity.
